Great Holiday

Hope everyone had a great holiday.

We had a non traditional dinner of meatballs and spaghetti because my son was coming for dinner and that’s one of his favorites.

It has also become a tradition (and a joke) for me to receive a kitchen item every year and this year I got a great one.

The dogs even got new chew bones and my little chihuahua promptly stole all of them and hid them from the other dogs

I Hate It When This Happens

I am an avid reader and always looking for books to read. Then often after I read them I will re sell them.

The other night a friend of my hubby’s sent home a big box just chock full of books. I got so excited!

The top layer was pretty good. Books were in nice condition and there were even a couple I hadn’t read
but as I dug deeper I noticed the covers of some were warped.

Ok  so there was a bit of water damage… not…
the whole bottom layer of books was moldy from getting wet and then just sitting.

It broke my heart to see good books just totally ruined.
Can’t read em, can’t sell em.. just had to throw them out.

The Perfect Gift

When the kids are little it’s so easy to buy for them.  Toys always work.

Mine are all grown up and my daughter is married. Each year it gets harder to find something  for her. But she loves to “create”.  She is what I would call crafty

While browsing I came across a wonderful starter kit to make wire wrapped jewelry. I know that she admires these items so I figured what the heck.

The best part is that it was from a reputable retailer AND there was a 50% off coupon!

I did good. This gift with all the other little items I got should keep her busy opening packages for a while.

Should I Take A Chance?

I have a decision to make. I know what I want to do but not sure if I should do it now or wait.

I sell Watkins Products. I have a lot of customers who are online buyers.  Rather than them paying me and then I go and order for them, I am thinking about getting a direct website.

The site is maintained by Watkins for me and the monthly fees are not out of line, but it  is the one time set up fee that I am having trouble with.

Should I invest in the site now or wait?

I know that if I can drive traffic to the site and build my customer base up some more  it will all be worth it.

I am unable to physically work outside the home so this is a big step for me because it is my main way to contribute to my household.

Decisions, decisions

Those Darn Dogs

I was on the phone earlier today and walking into the living room to check on our
6 month old springer spaniel (he was too quiet)

Well I tripped on an empty box that he and one of my other dogs must have moved and fell hard down the step to sunken living room.

Bruised my left leg and right arm and have a raging headache

I took some aleve and it helped, but now it’s wearing off

I think it originally kicked in before the shock of the fall wore off

I have aches and pains on top of my aches and pains… ouch

Sometimes I could just smack those dogs silly!

Family

I think it’s so important for family members to keep close ties and spend time together.

I share my house with my husband, daughter and son in law. It’s close quarters and sometimes we get on each other’s nerves, but financially that’s the way it is for now.

The nice thing is that we make time to pair off and spend time together.

Sunday nights my daughter and I have dinner out together.. sometimes a nice meal and sometimes fast food… but it gives us time to talk alone

I also occasionally have lunch out alone with my son in law

My husband and son in law do things together like go to pic-a-part to fix up the vehicles

It’s so important to keep communicating with each other
